This morning I had a dream that I was in a room with a group of strangers. The man sitting next to me was telling me jokes about David Bowie. I couldn't remember who David Bowie was, so I smiled and laughed politely when it seemed appropriate. Then everyone began to share personal anecdotes about Kurt Vonnegut. When it was my turn to speak I said that I hadn't actually known him, and everyone assumed I was making some deeply existential statement about how you can never really know a person. Then I woke up.

It was very odd.

I've been depressed over a few things lately (more frustrated, but the end result is the same). Yesterday I finally finished my semester project for history and finished reading Midsummer's. I'm so happy! Now I can go to sleep for a nice long time and attempt to de-stress my brain before starting on the next paper. <3

Etty is one of the longest existing characters I have. He was first drawn when I was twelve, so he's been around for around four years. Once I started writing about him rather than just doodling, Etty was joined by Zaryn (his childhood friend), Maeve Rose (Zaryn's little sister), Dol (whom Zaryn and Etty met in high school), Jamie (Zaryn's girlfriend), and Sascha (Jamie's cousin friend).

Etty lives with Zaryn and Maeve, is a cuddly drunk, loves animals, and kind of looks like a girl. He likes skinny jeans and old movies, and playing detective with Maeve. Etty's most aptly described as hapless and naive.

Zaryn

Zaryn saved Etty from a playground bully in preschool and they've been best friends ever since. Due to some needlessly convoluted circumstances, Zaryn's little sister Maeve lives with her and Etty most of the time (when their father is in town long enough, Maeve stays with him). Zaryn thinks of Etty as another sibling and has been dating Jamie since their third year of high school.

Maeve loves Zaryn and Etty. Maeve really likes pastel colors and plush toys and curries. She doesn't really remember her mother, and doesn't see her father often. She sometimes wears a tutu while pretending to be a detective with Etty.

Mince is Tay's imaginary friend. He's a metrosexual panda-type creature. With pink leggings. And a mauve velvet vest.

Nae is definitely my most cliche filled doll. She's magic (for reals), has purple eyes & color changing hair, has a punk crossdressing animal sidekick (Nero), and is, now that I think of it, kind of a Mary Sue. Oy.

Little mister cutie tail is Nae's partner in crime. They have matching poses and like to right wrongs and vanquish evildoers. Well, okay, that's mostly Nae. Nero enjoys wearing tights, staring lovingly at his shoe collection, and pondering what he would do given total control of France.

The Pukis are often up to no good. Logic is tricky and likes going on adventures. Canvas is frequently confused and likes wearing boots and posing for art. (Canvas is my little muse. I draw him lots and photograph him more than anything else.)

I'm almost sixteen! Which means... well, not much. Can't drive, can't vote, can't think of any perks. Except being old.

Also! I might be getting a puppy tomorrow. I find out if I got her later tonight, and if we were chosen we pick her up tomorrow morning. Mer name's Savannah and she's a five month old choxie. I loves her, but there's another person who would want to adopt her and her mom. I hope I get her. T^T

Oh my goodness, I'm excited. There's so much doll happy going on right now I'm not sure where to start. I pounced on the Unoa Boy kit at Crescent Shop, and my L-bi shipped tonight! His girlyful Sist faceplate is on it's way as well, so he'll be put together pretty soon and then Etymology will be alive in doll form. The first preorder of the Fairyland LittleFee should be shipping before Christmas so my Ante Fullset (Maeve Rose) will be home soon-ish as well.

Aside from the arrivals, I've thrown myself into Re-Ment collecting wholeheartedly. I've got my kitchen put together and bit and pieces collected for the living room, dining room, and bedroom. Now I just need to find a playscale dollhouse... >~>

All-in-all it's been pretty sweet these past few weeks.

The only thing is, I have to find some way to do things with people my own age. My school is like one-on-one tutoring with credits so there's like no social interaction. I hang with a few people (most of whom I dislike intensely) and I still see my friend Kat, but that's pretty much it. That's why I was able to get the L-bi right after I ordered Maeve. My mom told me she realized that a party (sixteenth birthday) would be depressing (there are only two people my age that I would invite) so they would get me another doll instead of doing some big event. I'm still having a tiny cake fest with my godparents, any relatives in the area, and assorted family-by-choice type people, so... yay for me.
